World Water Week is the annual focal point for the globe’s water issues. It is organized by SIWI, Stockholm International Water Institute. In 2017, World Water Week will address the theme “water and waste: reduce and reuse”. In 2016, over 3,200 individuals and around 330 convening organizations from 130 countries participated in the Week.
World Water Week can provide the context for learning in Geography, History, Civics and Citizenship and Economics as well as addressing the Cross Curriculum Priority of Sustainability . Also the General Capabilities of Intercultural Understanding and Ethical Understanding can be developed through learning about sustainable use of water.
